Welcome to Roaming...

Hi, welcome to Roaming Thru Europe - written by an American expat. baby boomer (me: Vicki) - for American baby boomers who have decided to take a moment or two to smell the roses - while travelling in Europe. Focusing on a specific geographic area or region, Roaming will take you ‘off the beaten path’. During each 2 or 3 month stay, I will write about the wonderful - and quite possibly not so wonderful – places and things I have discovered (during my 22 years of living in Europe) or am discovering (now)!! For instance from March through May of this year (2013), I will visit the Rhine and Mosel river valleys in Germany. Starting with the city of Mainz in March, I will then visit the towns and vineyards of the Rhine Valley in April and those of the Mosel in May. Daily Blog: In my daily blog, I will record my – purely personal and totally subjective impressions and thoughts (witty, pithy, bon mots!!!) – as I experience them. Monthly Online magazine: On the website of my – highly professional - online travel magazine (www.roaming-thru-europe.com), I will write articles about the landscape, the towns, the people, as well as things to do in the areas I am visiting. I will also provide in-depth reviews (with photos) of moderate-priced pensions and exclusive (read: romantic) hotels in which I have stayed as well as reviews of restaurants in which I have eaten. While some of these reviews will – hopefully - be paid advertising, all will be completely objective. I will also post advertisements and links to companies which offer goods or services I think will be useful to my readers. Monthly online newsletter: At the end of each month, I will summarize the on-line magazine information and post it on the website (in a pdf format) … where it will remain - for your convenience - for at least a year or more.
